10:00 AM  –  11:00 AM

I’m sure you’ve walked into your garden to pluck leaves for a salad or tomatoes for a sauce, but do you know how to harvest seeds from your vegetable garden?  Seed saving is what has given us the rich selection of heirloom varieties that we enjoy today. By learning how to collect and save seeds from your garden you will save money and be able to trace your edible plants back to their very beginnings. David King will share with you the secrets of seed saving for fruits and vegetables.

David King is the founder and first Chair of the Seed Library of Los Angeles and the gardenmaster/Director of the Learning Garden, a community and school garden located on the campus of Venice High School. David works as a writer, gardener, and activist working to make home grown food a part of the Los Angeles culture.
