Botany and the Bard: Shakespeare and Botany in the Victorian Era

In this talk given by Lori Anne Ferrell, PhD., and Lucinda McDade, PhD., they will discuss their research about the relationships between Shakespeare and Botany principally during the Victorian Era, but also its precedents in the 18th century and after in the 20th century!

Lori Anne Ferrell is director of the Early Modern Studies Program and professor of Early Modern Studies and Literature at Claremont Graduate University. Lucinda McDade is professor and chair of the Botany Department at Claremont Graduate University.

Thursday, April 27, 2017 4:30 pm - 6:30 pm (Please note that the start time has changed from 5 pm to 4:30 pm since the publication of our March-May brochures.)

$10.00 for students with ID and RSABG members, $15.00 for the public.

Will take place at the Lenz Classroom which is wheel chair accessible. (Also, please note that the location of the talk has changed from East Classroom to the Lenz classroom since the publication of our March-May brochures.)

Refreshments will be available.

Registration is required.

Please register online as space is limited to 45 participants, and it may fill up quickly! (43/45 seats still open!)

Please be on time as the gate to the garden closes exactly at 5:00 pm and you will not be able to enter.

Education Classes Refund Policy

In the case that a fee-based class or workshop is cancelled, Rancho Santa Ana Botanic Garden will refund the full (100%) payment.

If a registered and paid participant withdraws from the class 72 hours or more prior to the beginning of the event, class, or workshop a full refund will be issued.

If a registered and paid participant withdraws more than 24 hours but less than 72 hours before the beginning of the class, event, or workshop a 50% refund will be issued.

If a registered and paid participant withdraws less than 24 hours before the class, or is a ‘no-show’ on the day of the event, class, or workshop, no refund will be issued.

This Refund Policy applies to all classes requiring payment.
