Altared Nature: Wildlife, Art, and Ecophilosophy
Selected date Thursday April 6
Selected time 4:30 PM  –  5:30 PM

Using motion- and infrared-triggered trail cameras, anthropologist Paul Faulstich, PhD.,  professor in the Environmental Analysis program at Pitzer College, documents animals and their behaviors in the Claremont Hills Wilderness Park and the San Dimas Experimental Forest. In this illustrated talk, he will present photos and video clips of wildlife in the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountain and introduce us to environmental art based on his research. Infused with local natural history, Paul’s illustrated presentation will explore how we simultaneously alter nature and place nature on an altar, and invite us to imagine a different relationship with the more-than-human world.
