The science behind this ancient practice has been inspiring Dr. Robert J. Lang for more than 50 years. As one of the world’s leading origami masters, he has shown that innovative solutions to engineering challenges—from air-bag design to expandable space telescopes—can be found in the principles of origami. Join Lang to explore examples of rendering origami forms in diverse materials and sizes. The works presented range from the world's smallest flapping bird to a 21-foot tall steel Pegasus. The lecture will be followed by an origami folding workshop.
This lecture is geared for high school or above and seating is limited.
This program is presented in partnership with Scripps Presents.
